If Trump announced that he's now a Democrat, then it would have been unanimous

[–]Bearclawbear 2558 points2559 points  (49 children)

Just like he used to, switch from party to party to see where he could get most support for his fucking bullshit. Of course the republicans welcomed him with open arms at one point.

[–]YOLO_HASHTAG_SWAG 1939 points1940 points  (44 children)

He switched to be a republican because their base will believe anything. He lied for 4 years straight and he's still the only source of truth for 50% of Republicans

[–]obsessedmermaid 2514 points2515 points 3 (35 children)

This is my Mom. No matter what he says/does/incites he can do absolutely no wrong. Any news article written even slightly criticising him is fake news, if you dare insinuate that he isn't the greatest president our country has ever seen she will absolutely lose it, screaming and calling you a communist. She insists that the people who stormed the Capitol weren't Trump supporters but hired actors paid by the Democrats to bring Trump down. There is literally nothing that can be done to help her see how neck deep in lies she is. She's honestly been lost to the Trump mental illness and it makes me sick and extremely sad at the same time.

[–]YOLO_HASHTAG_SWAG 918 points919 points  (15 children)

Think of the Trump supporters who got started storming the capitol. They are getting called antifa by the 'real' Trump supporters.

I'm sorry about your mom, I have family that's similar. At least it's nice to know that in 6 months they will pretend they never voted for Trump out of embarrassment

[–]AdjunctFunktopus 400 points401 points  (6 children)

I hope that’s what we see. They’ll vanish as quick as McCarthy supporters or people who were for invading Iraq looking for WMDs.

[–]YOLO_HASHTAG_SWAG 1237 points1238 points  (5 children)

LOL. I'm just someone on the internet, but the general rule I've seen is if 33%, or less, of the population supports something/someone then they start losing public acceptance for their belief very quickly.

Smoking? When 50% of people smoked, it wasn't widely considered a "gross habit" but once that shrank to 33% or less, smoking became reviled publicly.

The opposite was true with pot. Once over 33% of people smoked it, it became more publicly accepted.

Trump support will have the same swing. Now it's 40% and falling. Once it's down to 33% supporters will look around and be disgusted by who's left

That's my theory on thirds

[–]l3tigre 534 points535 points  (0 children)

I like this and want you to be right

[–]MostAvocadoEaters 158 points159 points  (1 child)

I enjoyed this. You should flesh it out and make it into a TED talk.

[–]I_Envy_Sisyphus_ 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Probably would only be a TedX Talk.

[–]Twilightdusk 85 points86 points  (0 children)

The opposite was true with pot. Once over 33% of people smoked it, it became more publicly accepted.

Er, according to a July 2019 Gallup Poll, only 12% of American adults smoke weed, and from what I can find that number is only lower in Europe.

[–]obsessedmermaid 124 points125 points  (6 children)

Thank you, but my Mom will never give it up. She'll be one of those people who takes her Trump ass kissing to her death.

[–]YOLO_HASHTAG_SWAG 63 points64 points  (3 children)

I'm sorry to hear that. I've seen people come back from the Trump-supporter abyss, but you know your mom better than internet commenters.

[–]obsessedmermaid 108 points109 points  (1 child)

She's one of those people who has never in her entire life admitted to being wrong about.... anything. We had a major blow out about all of this in which she called my husband a liar and terrible father because "she was mad" and it was like pulling teeth to get an apology out of her. It sounded painful for her to utter the words "I'm sorry" and she only did so she could see my kids.

[–]Wiggy_Bop 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Is she still with your dad? How does he feel about this?

[–]MailmetotheMoon 58 points59 points  (0 children)

the Trump supporters who got started storming the capitol. They are getting called antifa by the 'real' Trump supporters.

I'm sorry about your mom, I have family that's similar. At least it's nice to know that I'm 6 months they will pretend they never voted for Trump out of embarrassment

my sister dived into trump support recently, she made it out though when she saw the raid on the capitol. I can only hope the rest of my family can do the same.

[–]Wiggy_Bop 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Not if Trump follows thru with his plans to head a new network. 😬 Strap on your seatbelts if that comes to fruition.

[–]powers330 63 points64 points  (0 children)

IDK what happened, but somehow he convinced a whole slew of people that everything bad said about him is the media being "mean" and fake. Like its just so insulting how much he obviously lies, and how well their news sources do not cover his insane ramblings and clear contradictions, but just pointing out verbatim things he has said or done doesnt work on these people.

[–]JPKtoxicwaste 195 points196 points  (2 children)

I feel you, this is my Dad as well and it hurts. He won't even speak to me anymore and we used to be so close before this asshole came along. It has torn my family apart. He is incredibly smart and has two PhDs but he has been watching Fox 24/7 for years and I don't think there's any coming back from this. This year after the he lost the election was the first Christmas in my life I wasn't invited. I hate trump for so many things but I hate him for this the most of all.

[–]obsessedmermaid 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. It's very unfair how much one man has managed to tear so many families apart like this. My parents want to be in my life but I am currently low contact with both of them. Its hard because we were such a close family for all of my life but the last year especially has changed everything.

[–]mercw1thamouth 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Dang man this was incredibly hard to read. My dad is a republican but doesn't believe all the trump hype thank god. He isn't happy about a democrat going in but even he thinks trump is a national security threat. I really hope your family can heal and your dad comes to reason soon

[–]pygmy_puf_86 41 points42 points  (1 child)

I just wanted to say that my mom has become the same way as yours. It’s really painful and scary to watch. You’re not alone 💔

[–]obsessedmermaid 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Thank you. It's difficult to watch your family slip into what is essentially a chosen mental illness. I appreciate the support.

[–]bearskinrug 101 points102 points  (1 child)

They literally think god above sent him down here to teach us how to grab pussies without people’s consent. They’re a cult.

[–]obsessedmermaid 77 points78 points  (0 children)

They are absolutely a cult. A cult who believes everyone else are the stupid, brainwashed sheep.

[–]Wiggy_Bop 14 points15 points  (0 children)

How awful for you! I feel so bad for families who get torn apart by a deranged man’s delusions.

[–]Krautoffel 22 points23 points  (7 children)

Cut her out of your life, maybe that will wake her up.

[–]obsessedmermaid 62 points63 points  (2 children)

I've made the provision that if she wants to be part of my life that she absolutely cannot bring up politics. Not to me, not to my kids, not even near me. Fair to say, I haven't heard from her in a week with everything that's going on, likely because she has nothing else to talk about.

[–]McNultysHangover 31 points32 points  (0 children)

likely because she has nothing else to talk about.

That's a problem I think a lot of people like this have, they're bored and need something to do.

[–]williams1753 36 points37 points  (6 children)

But look at his video yesterday! He really didn’t incite the violence for 4+ years, he said the right words! /s

Maybe this time he really learned his lesson

[–]YOLO_HASHTAG_SWAG 113 points114 points  (3 children)

Plans rally.
Spreads lies about a stolen election.
Has speakers warm up the crowd with phrases like "trial by combat" & "victory or death"
Tells the crowd they have to fight harder than they have ever fought before to keep their democracy.
Tells them to walk to the capitol building.
Watches the insurrection unfold on TV.
Denies every request for aid from Congress.
Did not address the insurrection for 3 hours after they breached the capitol.

Is not responsible at all???

[–]McNultysHangover 61 points62 points  (1 child)

Doesn't call in the national guard.

[–]YOLO_HASHTAG_SWAG 63 points64 points  (0 children)

He never did! Pence had to overstep his vice presidential powers to call in the guard himself.

You can say what you want about Michael Pence. He may be a homophobe looking to Christianize the whole country, but he respects the Democratic process. Which puts him in the company of about 5% of the republican lawmakers.

Pence is basically the best republican rn

[–]tmp2328 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Remove panic buttons within the capitol.

[–]dystopian_mermaid 21 points22 points  (0 children)

furrows brow in susan collins

[–]Mtbuhl 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I use the right words, lots of people are saying it. The best words, possibly the bestest words of all time. Huuuge words

[–]Kichae 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He was only ever a Democrat because his local representatives were always Democrats. He both loves a winner and also just wanted to be as close as he could to the power brokers.

[–]hammer_spawn 63 points64 points  (1 child)

That reminds me of my sister who voted for this orange shit. I’d reminded her that he “was” a Democrat for years prior to switching and she “claimed” she was voting more for Mike Pence.

Wasn’t sure if she was legitimately thinking that’d be a better explanation or not. I’ve long concluded she’ll ALWAYS vote red due to her religious faith and hey, that’s fine.

BUT that does mean she can’t get mad at me when i consider her a single-issue voter, the worst type of voters, and how I now say that if Ted Bundy, in his clean-cut appearance with a suit, were alive and running as a Republican, she’d vote for him.

[–]tmp2328 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Single issue voters are fine. But if your single issue is christianity then every candidate is viable anyway. And voting for the anti-christ/christian combo over two chrstians is pretty stupid.

[–]Konrad-Boerner 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He was the prime specimen of Reagan Style Capitalism. Just like Max Schmeling became the prime specimen of the Nazi Übermensch, so too Trump became Ronald’s Übermann. Flashy, self absorbed, spoiled, and unnecessarily rich with little work.

[–]dbauchd 52 points53 points  (0 children)

If Trump announced he was a Democrat then republicans would too

[–]bladel 49 points50 points  (1 child)

We now know the threshold for impeachment is above Inciting Armed Insurrection (for Republican presidents), but below lying about a blowjob (for Democratic presidents).

[–]demlet 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He's the leader of Antifa apparently, that should be enough.

[–]TennesseeTon 19 points20 points  (2 children)

Nah they'd all follow him and also become democrats like the brainless sheep they are

[–]mikerichh 482 points483 points  (1 child)

The weird thing is they didn’t argue his words didn’t incite the mob. Their argument was “oh too close to end of term” or “we need unity”

[–]TurtleDicks 239 points240 points  (0 children)

Same bullshit as not confirming Obama’s Supreme Court nominee. “Too close to the end of the term”. Fuck these assholes

[–]Jesmagi 1385 points1386 points  (4 children)

I had to listen to my republican dad go on about how it was the Democrats who were responsible for the riots. There’s just no getting through their skulls.

[–]TacticTall[🍰] 377 points378 points  (1 child)

My boss is the same way. She believe everything she sees on Facebook

[–]decadecency 283 points284 points  (0 children)

Quick! Get it out there that your skills are irreplaceable and you need a triple raise immediately! Just slap a random pic of yourself with one of those "97 percent of people won't know this" and add some random facts in there as well.

[–]pantherts 105 points106 points  (0 children)

You're not alone fellow Redditor...my dad said the same thing. "I heard it was ANTIFA doing all the damage at the Capitol."

[–]KaleBrecht 2448 points2449 points  (20 children)

I don’t think a tan suit alone would do it. Now if their skin were dark and they were wearing a tan suit...oh boy, now we gotta problem, buddy.

[–]inchscreenmoneygreen 675 points676 points  (4 children)

Hello? FBI, yes. This is the Antifa director, right here.

[–]JoeMaggs 160 points161 points  (3 children)

The valley echoes with the crisp snap of an Trump flag blowing in the wind behind a Ram dually as it rolls coal pulling out of the Wawa parking lot

[–]Anxious-King9829 42 points43 points  (0 children)

This is poetry

[–]UltraBunnyBoostST 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You just founded a new subreddit called r/peoplewritingtrumpers (not a real sub that I know of)

[–]ATROX_Beats 29 points30 points  (1 child)

In that case, storming the capitol wouldn't even be necessary

[–]Snow-Wraith 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They'd just have to look in the general direction.

[–]njunear 41 points42 points  (4 children)

*and were asking for Dijon mustard

[–]AFRN 35 points36 points  (3 children)

And fist bumping his one and only wife.

[–]EatDiveFly 20 points21 points  (2 children)

a fist bump is practically a gang sign.

[–]Kalamazeus 32 points33 points  (0 children)

They called it a “terrorist fist jab” but storming the capitol to overturn democracy is just some good old fashioned locker room patriotism

[–]greybeard_arr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Or even akin to a terrorist fist jab

[–]CliffShytz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Tan suit, dark skin, AND eating a hamburger with Dijon mustard.

[–]NakedMermaidVacation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two words: dijon mustard

[–]LemonBomb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sleeveless tan suit

[–]mdoktor 1377 points1378 points  (41 children)

Apparently the only thing Republicans find impeachable is blowjobs

[–]RurikTheDamned 727 points728 points  (2 children)

Except ones with porn star hush money.

[–]AtomicKittenz 262 points263 points  (1 child)

Clinton should have paid for his bj. Then he wouldn’t have been impeached, duh!

[–]Shivaess 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Capitalism at work here! Everything is fine, go about your business.

[–]Gulrix 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Is there a list where we can look at people who voted yes to impeach Clinton but no to Trump?

[–]easyroscoe 192 points193 points  (27 children)

Clinton wasn't impeached for the blowjob, he was impeached for lying about it.

[–]mdoktor 483 points484 points  (4 children)

Honestly that's worse, if someone made a list of all the lies Trump has told it would be a book so that makes the double standard even more blatant

[–]Taron221 133 points134 points  (1 child)

As you can see on page 947, row 2, table 1983, column 27777a, Mexico did not in fact pay for the wall, nor is the wall sturdy as claimed in...

flips a few hundred pages forward

[–]McNultysHangover 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Opens volume 2

[–]bitches_be 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I think the difference is he was under oath where this guy they never let him testify because it would have been a shitshow

[–]mugwumps 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Monica Lewinsky was 22 years old, he was the damn president. My opinion of Clinton has soured over the years as I have come to appreciate how inappropriate that was. That being said, the GOP did not care that Clinton took advantage of a young aide.

[–]skkITer 161 points162 points  (7 children)

He was impeached for lying about a blowjob that was not actually the subject of the investigation he was being questioned about.

It was an early example of the GOP being dirty fucks.

[–]Uffda01 147 points148 points  (0 children)

Lets not forget it was Newt Gingrich who led the fight against Clinton and his blowjob WHILE he was cheating on his wife as she was dying of cancer

[–]Ennara 79 points80 points  (2 children)

Technically he didn't even lie about it. The definition they used was "sticking an object into the genitalia of another person in order to arouse or gratify the sexual desire of any person." A blowjob performed on a man would not meet the agreed upon definition.

[–]Toledojoe 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Nor would any of Trump's sex, because I am sure he never gratified a woman.

[–]pops_secret 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What was actually being investigated? Also +1 for Democrats being brave and innocent enough to agree to depositions while in office.

[–]jxgty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

what do you expect? they need to know what you are doing with ur pp at all times, and then blame god for wanting to know.

[–]dystopian_mermaid 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I mean...that makes it worse I think...

Trump lied about a pandemic (that’s killed over 370,000 Americans SO FAR) and we found proof of it...

And that’s just ONE of the many lies he told.

[–]LeGeantVert 67 points68 points  (0 children)

If only Trump would have been impeached every time he lied.

[–]ArchdukeBurrito 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Apparently he should have just ignored every subpoena and refused to show up.

[–]Aligurl2 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Technical he didn't lie. He said sexual relations which in the dictionary says intercourse. He never had intercourse. He had foreplay. They didn't specifically ask his if he had any sexual contact with her. Words are very specific. You have to word the questions and statement very carefully. Trump walks that line every day. So don't beat up on bill he is a chior boy in comparison to criminal Trump

[–]Dan6erbond 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Who the fuck gives a damn when the same people won't impeach a Cheeto.

[–]Bunnymancer 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Leaving out a bit of context are we?

[–]peanutski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea but if you are familiar with the case and the law you will see they set him up for a perjury trap. Fine don’t look at Bill Clinton just look at how republicans reacted to Benghazi.

[–]Merari01 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The question was framed in a way he could not have given a correct answer no matter what he said.

He was trapped.

[–]wooddolanpls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's the lie they sold. He was impeached for partisanship.

There is a direct line from Newt to Trump

[–]someguy50 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Not just lying, perjuring

[–]gaytee 16 points17 points  (5 children)

Or wet ass pussy.

Yet somehow white women still vote red, every, fucking year.

[–]lickityslits 29 points30 points  (3 children)

Actually I just saw a graph on Reddit that showed if only women voted, Biden would have blown out Cheeto by like 70%

[–]gaytee 43 points44 points  (1 child)

and the fact that 30% of women voted for trump is still beyond fucked.

[–]cowtow 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That number largely carried by women of color, of course.

[–]DMindisguise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is why.

[–]KatoZee 610 points611 points  (23 children)

At this point, it's clear that party needs to be broken up. They do not run for any democracy of a modern world.

[–]mechashiva1 243 points244 points  (5 children)

Oh, its been clear for quite some time

[–]oneeye2 182 points183 points  (4 children)

I honestly didn't realize it until the Trump administration. It's now clear how corrupt the conservative party is. To be fair, I'm not convinced the Democrats don't have their own share of crooked behavior. What without it out the GOP conservatives are clearly a group of old white racists and white supremacist who believe white collar crime is okay.

[–]jessep34 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Sadly they are not all old so we can’t just wait for the racism to die out (as a lot of us used to hope)

[–]geeivebeensavedbyfox 57 points58 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, GOP are actively destructive to the country, that is to say, they aren't conservative they are regressive. Every chance they get they will make the country worse for seemingly no reason. Democrats, as a party, are true "conservatives", they will toil around the edges of making the country a better place, but will always default to the status quo. The most frustrating thing about conservative democrats to me is that they operate in a way that seems to assume Republicans have integrity when its clear they don't. The other day Joe Biden was praising Mitch McConnel for calling out Donald Trump, like that is bare minimum behavior that evil mf won't even let the senate vote on anything remotely helpful for the average citizen. I would love to see Dem leadership call out republicans as a whole instead of focusing so much on Trump, Trump is inevitable with the way the GOP works but Dems seem to forget that every time they get in power.

[–]Uffda01 35 points36 points  (0 children)

As the Democrats continue to allow former Republicans and folks like the Lincoln Project into the party - the Democrats will continue to alienate the progressive wing of the party. These people haven't signed on to national healthcare, climate change action or anything else that this country so sorely needs - they are only signing on to the Democratic Party to subvert the leadership, financial and management structures.

Its the progressives that lose in all of this. The Democrats have continually shown that they are willing to sacrifice the left wing of the party to appeal to the "center" and not be willing to stand up for anything they truly believe in. This is partially because they know the leftists don't have an alternative.

[–]mechashiva1 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I don't trust the DNC either. But they've always been the lesser of two evils.

[–]Slartibartfast39 73 points74 points  (12 children)

Split the Dems too and you've gotten rid of the two party system. I think this would be good.

[–]obsessedmermaid 56 points57 points  (1 child)

I was just saying this yesterday. We should have enough parties to vote for that you agree with at least 80% of the candidates values, not just literally picking who you think may be less evil.

[–]Slartibartfast39 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It too much of a two party system here in the UK but other smaller parties do have some influence. Still we need some electoral reform as well.

[–]Katrengia 28 points29 points  (7 children)

We need an actual leftist party in America

[–]cowtow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whichever two parties the dems split into would just form a permanent coalition, anyway.

[–]Withafloof 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Washington said no parties while he was gone. Now we all see why.

[–]lostinthesauceband 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just burn it all down.

[–]drewtheblueduck 163 points164 points  (2 children)

If they all wore tan suits and kneeled outside the capitol ...oh buddy

[–]Dan6erbond 73 points74 points  (1 child)

You forgot them needing to be black.

[–]JP091404 26 points27 points  (0 children)

No blackface though, if they did blackface then it wouldn’t be vicious.

[–]iceicig 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Even if a congressman or woman died, they still would've voted against it. Maybe 20-30 Republicans total would've voted for impeachment instead of 10. But the majority would still vote against it. Theyd still say the same things they said in opposition of it, this time they'd just claim more loudly that the crowd acted of their own volition

[–]litefoot 48 points49 points  (0 children)

“It’s ok if it’s our guys” mentality. Further proof that this tribalism politics needs to get binned.

[–]McPowPow 263 points264 points  (3 children)

I think what most have us have always known, but only recently confirmed, is that impeachment is a completely useless constitutional provision. The US will never see a sitting President removed through impeachment nor will we ever see congressman/senators expelled by their peers. We will never see a time where 2/3 of the legislative branch is capable of putting their oath to the constitution above their own political ambition.

The emerging details of the Capitol Riots reveals that the only reason our government is still standing is because the terrorist lacked organization. That’s it. That was the difference. Their disorganization allowed the equally disorganized leaders of our government enough time to get their shit together just enough to fight back.

That and the bravery of the Capitol Police Officers. Those folks were outnumbered to an unfathomable extent. I’m sure they were all shitting bricks (understandably so) yet they stood their ground by finding pure unadulterated bravery. It’s scary to imagine the consequences if they had not.

[–]bbrbro 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Waaaaaay outnumbered. Theres a big youtube playlist which chronologged the event. At one point it was like 12 cops vs 100s of people and it just get getting worse.

Not to mention it was by noooooooo means non violent.

2/3s was designed to prevent tyranny by majority but in practice is allows tyranny by inability. It assumed policy over party.

[–]cowtow 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Never a republican, anyway. If Trump was a Democrat, he'd be removed tomorrow.

[–]sethrichsbrother1 46 points47 points  (0 children)

IDK maybe FBI/police doing investigation first?

CNN reported last night that FBI says there was "pre-planning" of those involved on 6th.

Well no shit?

Trump supporters pointed it out BEFORE the rally.

[–]SleepWouldBeNice 56 points57 points  (3 children)

I heard on the news that some Republicans who voted no did so because they were afraid of retaliation against their family. Which is horrific if true.

[–]autotelica 74 points75 points  (2 children)

The terrorists won.

[–]DainBramage0604 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The terrorists found the cowards. There’s nothing like a stressful situation to find out what someone is really made of. Republicans are made of jelly.

[–]HansenTakeASeat 98 points99 points  (2 children)

This past week has made me realize how many people don't know the difference between capital and capitol.

[–]mk2vr6t[🍰] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Being black.

[–]AloneDoughnut 47 points48 points  (0 children)

While I don't agree, and this fact I'm about to point out only points out how crazy the Ultra-Trump people are, I do understand why some wouldn't. Let me explain before the pitchforks.

Imagine you are a republican living in one of these states with the extreme nutjobs. You know with every fiber of your being that some of those gun toting, flag waving, terrorists are from your state. You know they can look you up at any moment. You might think "Hey, I'm going to vote to impeach the president." But then you start to think this over. These people were chanting to hang Mike Pence, because he dared to uphold democracy. They stormed a government building in broad daylight and assaulted the Capitol. What would they do to you if you voted to remove Trump? To your family? So you toe the line and vote along company lines to ensure that doesn't happen.

Or you are like that crazy Alt-Right lady who is bringing her handgun into Congress whether people like it or not. I genuinely don't think there is a middle ground in the GOP anymore.

[–]Mythical_Atlacatl 21 points22 points  (3 children)

That is what I dont get, Trump seems to just keep doing worse and worse things and people keep supporting him

Like what is the line he has to cross to lose politicians or voters support?

[–]vBaC0n 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Well, he said he could shoot someone and not lose any votes.

Based off the supporters I know. I'm pretty sure he can do anything, because kf how brainwashed they are.

Say he's Hitler

[–]Bmmaximus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Storming the Capitol with tan skin.**

[–]idaWanoo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think the insurrectionists would gladly have killed anybody from either side once the mayhem began. These people are foolish not to understand that they were targets too.

[–]Solykos369 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Naw they would have had to be using selfie sticks while wearing the tan suits....

[–]BillNyeCreampieGuy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jim Gaffigan, now Mike Birbiglia? The conservative party is getting so bad, they’re inspiring all the most wholesome (and religious) comedians against them. Goodness lol

[–]pacman147 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lying about affairs and specific sexual acts involved... oh wait.

[–]CapitanWaffles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No. He needed to have them storm a Target and burn down a Wendy’s. The outrage.

[–]McNultysHangover 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Damn it this only just now hit me:

trump lied, Americans died.

[–]10art1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Let's be real, it would take a significant portion of their constituents not threatening their career when they do anything that can be perceived as going against Trump.

[–]uncle_jessie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Black. Lots more black people.

[–]thehookah100 22 points23 points  (1 child)

Riding bikes, wearing helmets AND tan suits, while taking photos of themselves making the "MCKayla is not impressed" face with their phones on selfie sticks.

Oh, and being black too.

[–]hooliganswhisper 12 points13 points  (0 children)

All of this while eating a burger with dijon mustard, as his wife wears a dress without sleeves

[–]La5tM3al 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Imagine if it was BLM in tan suits 🤔

[–]N1kN0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

[–]omegablivion 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There are two kinds of Republicans who voted against impeachment: those who were in on the coup, and those who want to be in on the next one.

[–]FactualOpinions- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s all the republicans trying to save their own ass due to the voters in their area being racist POS rather than doing what I hope they know is right. That are they’re the racists themselves. Hope to god this causes an uproar in voting to change the way things are ran and get these people that are more concerned with their cushy jobs than what’s good for the people in this country (not just the white people)

[–]Aedeus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With Dijon mustard in his front pocket.

[–]DGlen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that tan suit had a Dijon mustard stain on it they would have lost their minds.

[–]Ashe_SDMF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't want to lose those Trump supporter votes.

[–]countryguy-georgia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pouring Dijon mustard on the electoral votes.

[–]fiah84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

duh, storming the capitol while black

I'm pretty sure they'll just start shooting everyone if that happened

[–]Quizzelbuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using work email to coordinate the activities?

[–]yuckygross 17 points18 points  (5 children)

[–]GottIstTot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He signed my poster for "the new one" as "Mike Bahouski"

[–]DadIMeanBill 11 points12 points  (1 child)

My favorite comedian. His Netflix specials are so good. Such a great storyteller.

[–]yuckygross 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. Never been so glued to a comedy special and so silent afterwards.

[–]Parabola605 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi I'm looking for Mr.....ohhhhh maaaan!

[–]LeGeantVert 30 points31 points  (3 children)

It needed a few hundred black men and women, naked to prove that they are unarmed and for them to protest peacefully and damn the GOP would have sent an airstrike

[–]jassom1228 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Somebody would’ve claimed that one of them had a hand grenade in their ass.

[–]LeGeantVert 7 points8 points  (1 child)

An ass of mass destruction

[–]jeremias20055 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An ass to surpass metal gear

[–]topredditbot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey /u/666FuCkThEwOrLd666,

This is now the top post on reddit. It will be recorded at /r/topofreddit with all the other top posts.

[–]Anxious-King9829 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Storming the capitol with a PhD (women only though I guess)

[–]Outrageous_Ad4916 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the answer you're going for is doing all that "while Black."

[–]Goodknievel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would have to be sleeveless.

[–]snafujedi01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they would have smeared dijon mustard on the walls instead of feces that would have really done it

[–]Seumuis80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone from the opposite party doing the same thing? Every person who chooses party loyalty over the well being of the nation needs to be held accountable. This needs to be the line in the sand that we as a nation don't let crossed. If not then we already lost.

[–]Cleverusername531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish to go back to the days of when coffee cup salute were the big scandal of the day.

[–]Chouji-Akimichi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if they all put Dijon on their burgers

[–]GonzosWhiteShark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Better put some mustard on that suit, just to be safe.

[–]MateoCafe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they had hung Pence on livestream I think the military would swoop in to lock it down and protect all congress people and their families so the few that were "scared to vote for impeachment" would have. If Pence got hung and the videos were of Q/Proud boys etc. Shouted out something like this is from Trump, which their dumbasses would have, all but the Q and direct agitator congresspeople would have voted yes, would have been like 375 or so, IMO

[–]USArmy51Bravo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We know that answer already... It would have taken a blowjob. Blowjob equals impeachment insurrection equals... Non-response no vote... Duh! Haven't you guys figured out the rules yet?

[–]YouDumbZombie 7 points8 points  (1 child)

This type of shit is confirmation that nothing will ever get better. Some of them don't care at all. Insane.

[–]zobd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Saying happy holidays instead of merry Christmas

[–]CaptHowdy02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While holding a jar of Grey Poupon

[–]ForeignReptile3006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone holding an umbrella for him?

[–]Davischild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard that many of them vote along with this in fear of Y’all Qaeda retaliating and killing their families. Can anyone confirm truth to this?

[–]PmMeUrRunescapeLogin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kneeling at a football game.

[–]mslauren2930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What it would take is the money from Putin to dry up, I assume.

[–]zygodactyl86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Storming the capital in a tan suit with bottle of Dijon mustard. They couldn’t vote fast enough!

[–]Emdubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mike Birbiglia is one of the best comedians out there. His podcast “Working it Out” is a must for anyone who’s a fan of stand up.

[–]oldmanherbert22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hanging senators by the neck and asking for Dijon mustard
